Drama in the Woods brings you a new weekend theatre devising experience, in the beautiful and natural surroundings of Wilderness Wood in East Sussex. 

Join us this summer, 28-30 June 2024 and be a part of a unique open-air theatre experience…

• Experienced youth theatre practitioners will lead, support and facilitate the group as they write, devise and finally perform.

• Over the weekend members will take part in unique workshops that fuse together outdoor team building activities with drama and design, creating opportunities for individuals to socialise, collaborate and grow.

• Through this creative shared experience in nature, members will learn about themselves and each other, developing as individuals and as an ensemble when they perform together on the last day to family, friends and the local community in a promenade performance at dusk. All with the beautiful backdrop of Wilderness Wood. 

• Drama in the Woods projects are like no other and aim to provide a safe, fun and supportive environment where young people can explore their own imaginations, share, create and develop ideas and see those ideas realised, all the while drawing inspiration and resources from the nature around them. The experience is fully immersive, with the surroundings alone promoting a sense of belonging, wellbeing and empowerment.

• The Wilderness Wood site has excellent camping facilities in its' 62 acres, providing the perfect location for the group to work, socialise and relax around the fire once the sun goes down.

£150

What's included: food (cereals breakfast, snacks, packed lunch and hot dinner- all dietary requirements will be catered for, details of which will be asked for at the time of booking), accommodation- two person tents, activities, materials.

Not included: Personal kit and travel.

The team -All members of the Drama in the Woods team are fully DBS checked and are first aid trained. 

* A coach will be organised to travel to Wilderness Wood. We encourage families and friends to come and spend the day at Wilderness Wood on Sunday 30th June and take advantage of the beautiful surroundings. There will be wood-fired pizzas and light refreshments available from the Wilderness Wood Hatch. Also the woodland trail which is a great way to spend the afternoon, before becoming the audience to our performance. In which case members will return home with their families. We will however, arrange transport back to London for those who need it.
